What I was trying to do:

Since I was little, I like Pokemon. One of my parents has a laser cutter, so we decided to burn out a standard Pokemon form so I could try better painting techniques with it.

What worked:

I got to use the leafeon template as a kind of coloring book, but for painting. I learned a lot about shading and blending with acrylic paint.

What didn’t work:

I think I put too much detail in certain places. If I do this again, I would want to simplify it some more.

What I learned:

To blend with acrylic, I used different washes of color and built up layers that way.

I think I overdid the shading. I should have made the shading less harsh.
