
What I was trying to do:
I was at a convention, selling painted rocks, and someone asked me to paint a rooster. I had never painted a bird before, so I sketched it out first, then worked on the rock itself.
What worked:
I think the colors look nice, and the person that bought it was happy with it.
What didn’t work:
I didn’t leave enough room for the legs, so they look really stubby.
What I learned:
I should leave myself more work to work with – especially when making pieces under a tight deadline.
